Hey guys, so here we go, My friend sent me this, I am not sure where she got this from... read it first then I will explain..
"Everyone longs to give himself or herself completely to someone, to have a deep and committed soul relationship with another, to be loved thoroughly and unconditionally.
But God says: No, not until you are satisfied, fulfilled and content with being loved by Me alone, with giving yourself totally, unreservedly to Me alone.
I love you, My child, and until you discover that only in Me is your satisfaction to be found, you will not be capable of the perfect human relationship that I have planned for you. You will never be united with another until you are united with Me; exclusively of anyone or anything else; exclusively of any other desires and belongings.
I want you to stop planning, stop wishing, and allow Me to give you the most thrilling plan existing -- one that you can't imagine. I want you to have the very best. Please allow Me to bring it to you.
Just keep your eyes on Me, expecting the greatest things.
Keep experiencing that satisfaction knowing that I AM.
Keep learning and listening to the things I tell you.
You must be patient.
Don't be anxious.
Don't worry.
Don't look around at the things others have.
Don't look at the things you think you want.
Just keep looking up to Me, or you will miss what I want to give you.
And then, when you are ready, I will surprise you with a love far more wonderful than you could ever dream. You see, until you are ready, and until the one I have for you is ready (I am working even this minute to have both of you ready at the same time), until you are both satisfied exclusively with Me and the life I have prepared for you, you won't be able to experience the love that exemplifies your relationship with Me .. and this is perfect love."
When I read this, all I could think of was WoW.
I have been going through allot lately dealing with the whole being with someone and dating issue and such. I just sort of got out a "relationship" ( if you want to call it that) where I really started caring about someone, and it just sorta fell apart at the end.
"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go,things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust noone but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."
To think I actually was looking forward to Valentines day this year, and all of that, but I know everything happens for a reason.... God's got plans.... But, yes, I read that up there, and all I could do was just think how amazing our God is, and in all things, HE WANTS US TO FALL COMPLETELY IN LOVE WITH HIM, before we take on any task. If we are not totally satisfied with our father in heaven, then how can we expect to work for him fully, as he wants us to, and to find joy in the people he has placed in our lives.
As a Christan's we know we have this amazing father, yet at times we go to other things trying to find satisfaction. I know it sounds crazy but we do it all the time. Just think about how many things in your life you allow to get in the way of God, it can be a relationship, a hobby, a job, school work, or what ever it is. Find true satisfaction in God, and trust him, and in His perfect time, all things will work out.
So this Valentines day lets just completely be in love with the God that loves you and cares for you so much.
With Love -Reny

hey man, it was a good reminder no doubt. i remember getting that same email a while ago and just thought the same thing.. wow, just to be completely and soley in love with our creator before we're truly ready. amen!
Hey Reny~
Sounds like you're growing a lot through this, which I knew would happen =)
It's funny reading this because I think during my sophomore year of college, someone left the letter you posted on your blog in my college mailbox. It was really an encouragement to me at that time.
The Lord longs for your heart completely, kid..keep running hard after Him, and He'll get you through every circumstance.
this is true bro, God's love is perfect and unconditional, far greater than what a human can offer!
stay blessed, i'm going through the same situation as you too!
let us place our trust in Him that He's preparing us and that someone special for us.
oh yes! who does not want a Godly girl?!
Jesus Freak (kevin oon)!
Hey Reny,
Someone sent me the same letter too in college...I wonder if it's the same person??! Haha. I do like the premise of the article, though some of it is not realistic: "But God says: No, not until you are satisfied, fulfilled and content with being loved by Me alone, with giving yourself totally, unreservedly to Me alone." This does not happen until we are in Heaven! But I do agree that we can get caught up in His gifts rather than the Giver. God bless!
hey Reny,
great post; This reminded me of something my dad told me once...
"Genuine love requires sacrifice".
Until someone is willing to sacrifice as much as Jesus has sacrificed for us, that love is probably not genuine. The love Jesus showed us, all those years ago is a love that is not of this world. His love is from above and He's looking down to earth on you and he KNOWS you. He knows what you've been through, the paths you've tried in life, the people you might have given your heart to. Still God waits for the day you give yourself completely to him. The bible says we are the church, and the church should be married to Jesus. A marriage is a unification of two people, and thats exactly what God wants with his chosen ones. 1 John 4 : 16 says - "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God IS Love.Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him". Until we are able to sacrifice our desires for things of the world like relationships, jobs and especially our time, until then we wont be able to find the true love that God has waiting for us.
When we focus on the things of the world, we get distracted from what God has in store for us. ( Just like your post says). In 2 Kings 2 - the story of Elijah when he gets taken up to heaven. Its a prefect example, The entire journey of Elisha and Elijah was a test. Elisha told Elijah that he wanted his double portion, and Elijah said, then you will have to see me being taken up to heaven. Throughout the journey he faced many distractions, and at evey city they stopped at Elijah would tell Elisha to stay behind, but Elisha knew that God had a plan for his life and that he just needed to hold on, no matter how distracted he got. So finally Elijah gets taken up and Elisha see's him with his own eyes. Because Elisha saw the hand of God, and hold onto his promise, then only was he able to get what God had in store for him, the double portion of Elijah!
The final thing i wanted to say was that... many times when we search for someone to have a relationship with, there is just soo much baggage that comes along with it. It might be them, or it might even be us. Sometimes we get into relationships and carry burdens along with us. Burdens of Fear, Regret or Insecurity.
1 John 4 : 18 says " There is no fear in Love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love". We might be afraid of having our hearts broken or our time wasted, but when we give ourselves to God, he takes all our burdens ( cast All your cares on him, for he cares for you!) and makes us perfect in his love. Then from there its up to us to keep following his path to the one he has in store for us.
Peace & Blessings Buddy.
